This new upcoming feature will ‘change’ WhatsApp Groups forever

WhatsApp group tend to be quite irritating sometimes with all participants responding at the same time. Also, WhatsApp groups are proven to be a potential tool to spread rumours and fake news among a large number of users. In order to tackle this, WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a “Restrict Group” feature for its iOS, Android and Windows Phone apps. This feature will only allow WhatsApp group admins to send messages in the group. While all group members will be able to see these messages, only admins will be allowed to respond to these texts. Other group members can only read them.

The ‘Restrict Group’ feature will also prevent non-admin participants from sending photographs, videos, GIFs, documents or voice messages if the group admin or admins doesn’t allow them. The feature is said to be available in WhatsApp Android version 2.18.132 and above.

WhatsApp users will soon be getting several new features. WhatsApp director Mubarik Imam announced this at the recently-concluded Facebook’s F8 conference. According to Imam, the features include stickers and group video calling. She also said that the app may also soon get some of the features of its business app, WhatsApp Business.

Imam, however, did not disclose any details about the group-video calling feature. This includes any information about how the video-calling will work or the number of participants. The video example she showed had four participants engaged in a video chat.

In another news, iOS users are receiving a “Black Dot message” which is crashing the iMessage app. The new Black Dot message is affecting the iPhones and iPads running iOS 11.3 and iOS 11.4 beta.
The message consists of a black dot along with a hand pointing towards it. The message appears to be quite harmless but it comprises of a string of hidden characters. The main problem is that there are a lot characters within the message and the processor inside the iPhone or iPad is not able to deal with it and as a result it crashes the iMessage app.
